A small desk of readers who got tired of paying for adjectives.
Zompliboardtall began as a notebook: ingredient lists copied from jars, annotated in red, compared across price points. It became a journal because the notes kept answering the same questions friends asked — is this worth it, does this work, can I use it with that?
The desk is run by Zompliboardtall Editorial Ltd in London. Our contributors have backgrounds in cosmetic formulation, pharmacy and science writing. We do not diagnose or treat; for skin conditions, a dermatologist or pharmacist is the right person to ask.

How we work
- We cite primary literature, regulatory texts such as EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, and databases like CosIng, rather than press releases.
- We separate evidence quality: large controlled trials, small studies, supplier data and consumer perception surveys are not treated as equal.
- We name ingredients by INCI and avoid naming brands unless the product itself is the point.
- We correct errors openly and date every revision.

We carry no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored posts. We do not accept free product, travel or payment from brands or ingredient suppliers. The site is funded by its editors. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
